
Professor Jennifer Ratner-Rosenhagen’s “American Nietzsche” was turned into an exhibit “No Trivial Matter: Nietzsche’s Urge for the Truth” at New York Encounter, NYC (Feb. 2023) and discussed in the April 12th issue of Newsweek magazine under the headline: “Our Culture War Is Two Sides of the Same Nietzschean Coin.” The article states that “Ratner-Rosenagen’s book American Nietzsche is quite possibly the most useful resource in uncovering Nietzsche’s influencde on the various factions within American Culture.”
Jennifer Ratner-Rosenhagen is the Merle Curti and Vilas-Borghesi Distinguished Achievement Professor of History at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is the author of The Ideas That Made America: A Brief History (Oxford University Press, 2019), and American Nietzsche: A History of an Icon and His Ideas (University of Chicago Press, 2012).
