Biography
I’m Sean Nowlan, a current PHD student at UW-Madison. I am person with a passion for Atlantic history during the Early Modern period, keeping one foot on each side of the pond. I like to study military-logistics, finance, and maritime trade; with the ultimate goal of studying how the concepts of “fiscal-military hubs” can apply to the New World rather than the cities inside of Europe. Having educational and personal interests in the environment, ecology, religion, and contemporary politics I’m a person down to talk about anything and everything. When I’m not doing endless reading and writing, you can find me hosting a Tabletop RPG group, playing online games, and catching shows on a streaming service.
