I study nationalism and ideological conflict in Central America during the Cold War, focusing particularly on the relationships that intellectuals and politicians forged within and beyond the region to spread their ideas. My research examines the nation-building projects advanced by these intellectual networks, the influences that shaped them, and their efforts to popularize and implement their proposals.
