Biography
I am a second-year Ph.D. student focusing on Indigenous history in the American West and Midwest across the long nineteenth century. My previous work has explored the role of universities in settler mythmaking. My most recent project examined how my undergraduate institution, Holy Cross, and a cohort of Native intellectuals, constructed countervailing narratives of the region’s Nipmuc past. Several of my previous research projects have also probed how Indigenous people recast federal policy, within and outside the BIA, at the turn of the twentieth century.
