Biography
My research delves into histories of ‘real’ and ‘imagined’ boundaries between human and non-human beings. My research is interdisciplinary in nature, drawing from materials and methods across the history of science, disability, literature, culture, and belief. My work seeks to address why and how we have historically defined ‘humans’ and ‘animals’ as separate beings, what consequences these dynamic definitions have had for both groups, and what unpacking these definitions can do for disrupting contemporary dehumanization.
