On Saturday, April 30th, 2022 Professor Emeritus William Cronon returned to the UW-Madison campus for a conference in celebration of his retirement. The one day conference titled “Common Places: Keywords for a More Than Human World” was organized by his former graduate students and featured presentations from over twenty scholars and writers. Professor Emeritus William Cronon held the position of Frederick Jackson Turner and Vilas Research Professor of History, Geography, and Environmental Studies at the University of Wisconsin–Madison before his recent retirement in 2020.
