Congratulations to alumnus William Warner (Ph.D. 2017) on becoming the new Membership Manager at the Association for Asian Studies! Warner completed his graduate work in South Asian history here at UW-Madison, and his dissertation (advised by Professor Emeritus André Wink) focused on “Mobility and Muscle: Afghan Migration and the Frontiers of British India, c. 1800-1947.” Before joining the staff at AAS, Warner most recently worked for the Consortium of Humanities Centers and Institutes as the Event and Membership Manager, and taught for our department as the instructor for History 130: An Introduction to World History.
