Since graduating last winter (December 2018), newly minted Ph.D. recipient Dr. Megan Stanton has received the Mormon History Association’s Best Dissertation Award for “All in the Family: Ecclesiastical Authority and Family Theology in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.” Stanton received the award at the MHA’s 54th annual conference last week in Salt Lake City, Utah.
According to the Mormon History Association website, the Best Dissertation Award is awarded for the best doctoral dissertation on a Mormon historical theme. Funded in honor and memory of the many students of Gerald Edward Jones, who served for many years as an administrator and instructor for the LDS Church Education System.
