This week, the world remembers the 75th anniversary of the Normandy Landings. In an effort to commemorate this moment, alumnus and Board of Visitors Emeritus Jeffrey A. Engel (M.A. 1996, Ph.D. 2001) has written an opinion piece for the Washington Post. The article is titled “Lest we forget: The lesson of D-Day for Americans today,” and discusses the legacy of the 1944 operation, and how it has been perceived and commemorated over time.
