Scott Trigg defends and moves to a Postdoc at Notre Dame

July 2016

Having defended his dissertation “From Samarqand to Istanbul: Astronomy and Scientific Education in the commentaries of Fatḥallāh al-Shirwānī,” Scott Trigg will take up in August a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in the History and Philosophy of Science Graduate Program at the University of Notre Dame.

Scott will continue pursuing his research in history of science in this new, vibrant academic community while teaching a course each semester, including at one point a graduate seminar in his area of specialization – the history of science and philosophy in Islamic societies, medieval scientific education and institutions, and the process of transmitting knowledge within and across cultures.

Congratulations Scott on finishing and on moving to this fantastic new position.
