My research interests are on the displacement and immigration of Japanese Latin Americans (with an emphasis of Japanese Peruvians) to the United States after their internment during WWII. I focus on national identity, labor history, cultural history, and immigration. I aim to explore how relocation and incarceration causes cultural erasure long after said traumatic events have occurred.
