Alumnus Tom Rademacher (BA, 2017) recently had his senior honors thesis published in volume 25 of The Mining History Journal – the peer reviewed, scholarly journal of the Mining History Association. Rademacher’s thesis is titled, Wisconsin Sand and Gravel Mining: From Nineteenth-Century Gravel Pits to Twenty-First Century Frac Sand Mines. During his time in the History Department, Rademacher won the 2018 Andrew Bergman Prize (one of the writing prizes that the Department awards annually) for this paper. Since graduating, Rademacher has worked for AmeriCorps, doing projects with the National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) and Habitat for Humanity.
