Professor William Reese was recently selected for a prestigious Vilas Research Professorship. The Vilas Professorship is one of the highest honors bestowed by UW-Madison. Selection criteria demand that candidates “be of proven research ability and possess unusual qualifications and promise. The individual must have contributed significantly to the research mission of the university and be widely recognized both nationally and internationally for the quality of research.”
Reese joins Bill Cronon and Gregg Mitman as History’s third honoree in this rarefied category.
