Francisco Scarano Lecture: “Como anguila: Eel Translations and the Colonial Embodiments of Language”
Roque Raquel Salas Rivera
Chazen Museum of Art Auditorium
Drawing from a work in progress, Roque will explore translations that have irrevocably marked Puerto Rican history and develop a theory of decolonial, eel-like translations. The lecture pays homage to the slippery movements we make to escape a colonial grasp and will be followed by an opportunity for audience questions and conversation.
The event is free and open to the public. Please RSVP here to help us plan. Thank you to everyone who has already registered!
