I am a historian of 20th century East Africa. My interests are primarily in social history and the end of British colonial rule. My current project is a social history of tea estates in western Uganda and the connection between health and tea companies in the mid-late 20th century. In the past, I have researched colonial psychiatry and the psychological trauma some East African veterans of World War II experienced, and the care they received upon their return from combat in Burma.
