Celia Crefasi

I am a student of the early modern period with a focus on the Iberian Peninsula and Spanish and Portuguese colonial endeavors across the Atlantic. My research interests include concepts and projections of civilization; construction and perception of identity; women and gender studies; Christianity, specifically the role of women as nuns in the Catholic Church; healing; and the role/significance of food as a subject of analysis to expand and enrich existing historiographies on the aforementioned topics.
