The Program in Gender and Women’s History consists of about twenty-five students who have come to Madison from home and abroad to study gender history and conduct research on a wide range of national and comparative topics.  The eleven faculty members within the program specialize in United States, European, or Latin American history.  The program offers seminars on women’s and gender history in different geographic parts of the world, as well as a team-taught core seminar on the comparative and transnational history of women and gender.  Students and faculty regularly participate in a gender workshop that invites outside speakers, and also gives students and faculty the opportunity to present their work in an informal setting.
