Degrees Received

B.A., 1980 University of California, Berkeley.  I began as a physics major, planning to do graduate work in astrophysics; then I discovered a passion for historical analysis and  finished with an independent major in the history of technology.
Ph.D., 1988 Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Political Science, under the auspices of the Program in Science, Technology and Society (with emphasis on the history of technology, business history, and political economy).
