International Meridian Conference, 1884 |
Out of
this conference, convened by the U.S., apparently in response to naval
interests, came an international agreement establishing the meridian
passing through Greenwich, England, as the international or prime
meridian. Available on the web are page
images of the conference proceedings, thanks to Joseph S. Myers of
Cambridge University, and a Project Gutenberg
